WolfManChi Balance is providing a lifestyle which consists of freedom, exercise, training, playing, and down time!
This is what The WooFDriver website is all about. a complete lifestyle for you and your dog. You certainly don’t need to go to the extremes that I do here, but I am trying to let everyone know it is relatively easy to get involved with, and practice.
Balance definitely includes Boundaries for your Dog but that should not be a problem because they can respect them easily, they just have to understand the boundaries and how you want them to respond to them. In fact I have found Dogs who have Boundaries and respect them, are actually less hyper and more at ease in most situations. Therefore they are much more manageable. My key for Boundary or behavioral training is to teach the boundary, and than reward the dog with a great experience after he respects the boundary or does the response you are training. For example if I want to teach the dog to come to me, I call him to me, when he comes I try to release him pretty quickly as the reward. Especially in the beginning training. I don’t start off training him to come to me and than put a leash on him or ask him to do something else. I am just looking for him to come to me and than almost instantly release him after praise and petting. That is Balance. After successfully training him to come to me, I can than start other training such as waiting with me or leashing him up when he comes to me.
A Balanced Dog’s Life will provide for a very satisfied dog and a content parent.
WolfManChi Confidence is when the Dog is totally comfortable with himself. It’s the ability in the dog to try new things, recover quickly from uncomfortable situations, and make the
right choice even when in stressful conditions.
A Confident Dog is much easier to train than an unsure dog.
Confidence is something we can train into the dog.
There are many different ways to approach this and be successful, but the main key is to constantly praise your dog for getting through stressful and new situations; while protecting him from a “bad” experience when he attempts to do a desired behavior.
